The game came packaged with a set of 3 promotional cards for the Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game.Seto calls on the player to battle the king because the prophecy states that only the Rose Duelist would be able to defeat the king. The king promises to take over again and return "order" to the way of dueling. Only things do not go as planned as the king becomes upset that he was awoken from his slumber and claims to be disturber by the way that the human race has "tainted" the way of dueling. After the player retrieves all of the Red Rose Cards he takes them to Seto where Seto makes an attempt to summon the former king and succeeds. The player battles through players such as Mya, Tristian, Joey, Grandpa, and finally Yu-Gi himself. Seto explains that the player needs to go into the Yorkist country and destroy all of their duelist so he can retrieve all of the Red Rose Cards. If the player chooses the White Rose Card then Simon is wisk away and the player goes with Seto. (The Rose Crusaders is intentionally easier such as choosing the Dark Side in the Star Wars Video games.) The Rose Cruesaders The player is then given a choice to take the White Rose Card and fight for Seto and the Crusaders or to choose the Red Rose Card and fight for Yu-Gi and the Yorkist. Seto explains to the player that neither side is winning so it is fair game. Seto explains that both the Yorkist and the Crusaders have eight of the sixteen "Rose Cards". After a lengthy discussion of both Simon and Seto attempting to get the player to join their sides Seto proposes a compromise. Seto is the leader of the Rose Crusaders which believe that they should summon one of the old kings which helped create the dueling game. Only before Simon can fully convince the player to join forces with the "Yorkist" (Yu-Gi's side) a man named Seto Kiaba appears. The player is summoned by a druid named Simon to the past days of dueling so that he can help the young prince Yu-Gi Moto. if your a fan of yugioh, this is an interesting game to check out. This is an RPG game where the player is a "ROSE DUELIST". overall, i enjoy this game, it certainly isnt the best yugioh game, but i enjoy its new and refreshing twist on the card game, and i enjoy the interesting story, graphics, music, and overall presentation as well. it takes alot of the simple 8bit themes from dark duel stories as well, and revamps them with a fully orchestrated score. and some people might not hear it this way, but i personally love this soundtrack. I honestly cant even describe, this games soundtrack is by far within my top 10 video game soundtracks of all time! The soundtrack is at times pumping, at times chilling, at times sad, it captures so many different elements. What truely amazed me with this game however, was the soundtrack. i really thought this was an inovative and interesting story and plot, and it really caught my interest. I really enjoyed how they presented the story putting yugioh characters in the war of the roses. The graphics are good as well, nothing to rank home about, but certainly gets the job done rather quite nicely. it really freshens up the experience, and i found that it helps as well that the game has branching story lines, which helps with the longetivity, as well as the replayability. At first to be completely honest i was a bit dissapointed when i saw this game wouldnt be playing like the card game, but rather it would be playing like a yugioh and chess hybrid, but once i got into the game, and got used to it, i really enjoyed this twist.
